Madlib drops a new song called “10 Summers Old.” We don’t get get an overload of music from Madlib, so new stuff is always welcome. The 2010s have seen the Stones Throw producer put out a Quasimoto album, a collaborative project with Freddie Gibbs, and MED and Blu, as well as produce tracks for Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar, and J Dilla. Today, he’s back with a new instrumental track titled “10 Summers Old.” It’s one of two releases on a new 7-inch for Rappcats and Technical Equipment Supply; the other is called “Barrel Proof.”
Madlib has released a new 7″ record featuring two instrumental tracks: “Barrel Proof” and “10 Summers Old.” Listen to “10 Summers Old” below. The 7″ is available to purchase at just two places: Rappcats.com and Technical Equipment Supply, a record store and label run by Todd Osborn in Ypsilanti, Mich. Osborn’s shop is the same place that exclusively released Aphex Twin’s latest 12″ record. Last year, Madlib released a track with DOOM called “Avalanche.” In 2015, he collaborated with M.E.D. and Blu for Bad Neighbor. His most recent solo record, Rock Konducta Pt. 1 & 2, came out in 2014.
