The Game comes through with a new song, “Heaven 4 A Gangster.” Tupac Shakur’s name has been swirling around the mainstream this year thanks to movies like All Eyez On Me and various documentaries across various networks. A&E is plotting a new docuseries titled Who Killed Tupac? and The Game has taken it upon himself to dedicate a record to the late rapper, like only he can. On “Heaven 4 A Gangster” he talks about the state of the rap game and how 2pac wouldn’t be up for some of the music that’s out now.
The Game told Billboard that “Heaven” was deeply inspired by his late hero on the 21st anniversary of his death. “‘Heaven 4 a Gangster’ was my perception of what I thought the mental premonitions of Tupac and hip- hop would be seen as today,” he said. “Are we understood or are our testimonies categorized as a sin? Again is there a ‘Heaven 4 a Gangster?’ I wanna to know.” Last year, The Game dropped 1992 and announced his final album, Westside Story, which he is currently working on.
